It took a surprisingly long time to release the baffles from the cylinder molds. It took a combination of wedges, shims, Popsicle sticks, compressed air, and persuasion (mallet) to get them to release. Even so it wouldn’t completely release. I had to cut off the inboard portion of the baffle where the cylinder hold downContinue reading “Surprisingly Well”

Scatterbrained
Today, I felt a bit scatterbrained. I just really couldn’t get any traction on any one task. I started by releasing the layup we did yesterday on the gear actuator cover. I then trimmed the part and sanded off all the fiberglass prickers I could find. Pity, you never find them all. The part isContinue reading “Scatterbrained”
Wake Up Call
Those of you who know me know that I am not really a morning person. The different time zones I work in, plus the fact that I rarely can go to bed before midnight are not conducive to early mornings. Canardgate Day 63

There were a few things to finish prep sanding on, as well as some masking to do. Then we used floxContinue reading “Multiple layups with Jon”
Back to Micro
Well, first thing was first today. Had to get the Keezer cleaned, lines rebuilt, seals replaced, and sanitized so it can dispense the liquid gold. There wasn’t much workshop work on that project, but it did require tools from the garaggio and a trip to Northern Brewer for parts. I can say that it isContinue reading “Back to Micro”
